Aims
- To institutionalise and divulge anthropology as a scientific discipline.
- To promote anthropological research.
- To publish the magazine of anthropology Ankulegi.

Main activities
- Organization of Ankulegi conferences on anthropology (annually) since 1997.
- Edition of Ankulegi. Gizarte antropologia aldizkaria / revista de antropología social / revue d’ethnologie (annually) since 1997.
- Work group on anthropologists’ professional profile and job opportunities (2001-2002).
- Elaboration of A City by Your Side, a guide of resources for immigrants in Donostialdea (2002, project sponsored by Town Council of Donostia-San Sebastián).
- Organization of courses: “Identity and ethnicity in the Basque Country” (ITA-ICA, 1997), “Ethnographic photography” (EHU-UPV, 2002) and “Mediation. Alternative resolution of conflicts” (EHU-UPV, 2002).

- Library: wide range of magazines and journals on anthropology.
- On-line forum (Ankuplaza) for the difusion of news and information, computerized articles, etc.
- Society’s web page for the electronic publication of the members’ monographs.
Exchanges and agreements of collaboration
Ankulegi collaborates with different groups and institutions in the sphere of the social sciences and humanities, through the interchange of information and publications. The association is always prepared to establish new contacts with individuals and collectives interested in the discipline of anthropology.
