The structure of EcoConcern-Innovació Social is based on the following eight areas of activity:
1. ASSOCIATIVE AREA. Every Tuesday we hold conferences and forums to debate innovative proposals of researchers, be they individual or collectives. These are open to memberships and all public. In relation to a central theme, the first Tuesday of the month is a "book forum". The second Tuesday is a round table discussion. The third Tuesday a publication is presented, while the forth Tuesday is reserved for themes from current affairs which came up during the course. The latter are announced in advances on the association's bulletin, EcoCorreu.
2. FORMATION AREA. EcoConcern-Innovació Social also holds seminars, which analyse more deeply the concerns of the association. These run for a specific number of sessions, during which small groups generate and debate proposals and suggestions for research and study.
3. RESEARCH TEAMS AREA. This is an opportunity to develop themes with the collaboration of other societies and groups, who give part of their time to voluntary activities. It's also open to the participation of specialists outside the membership group. Now we have these research themes:
4. PROJECTS AREA. Within the context of a specific plan of action, the projects are involved in carrying on research to develop firm-up and define contemporary strategies to make the social innovation proposals practical and applicable. This functions with the support of private and public enterprises and groups. The projects that are working are the following ones:
5. DYNAMIC ACTIVITIES AREA. The association also hols cultural events, including art exhibitions, poetry readings, concerts, presentations of books, cultural trips and excursions of various kinds.
6. PUBLICATIONS AREA. We continue to publish periodically the papers of the association, most of them in Catalan. They are EcoCorreu (the association's bulletin), Social Innovation Papers, European Papers, Sustainability Papers, Basic Income Quarterly, and so on.
7. EXTENDED ACTIVITIES AREA (outside the society's main office). The aim is to promote conferences and forums in different places, especially the countryside of Catalunya, to energize community life and encourage citizen participation in the social innovation themes. In order to benefit and support activities Catalonia, EcoConcern-Innovació Social offers the possibility to organize conferences, debates, seminars to groups and associations concerned with the themes developed by the association: effects of globalisation, critical economic theory, Basic Income, alternative thinking, NGO co-operation, actions for a culture of peace, participatory citizenship, education in values, multiculturalism, sustainability, ethical business and so on.
8. JOAN CASALS I NOGUERA DOCUMENTATION CENTRE. This collection of documents is open to all researchers, students, universities, groups, associations and people interested in the subjects we are working for: the environment, Basic Income, economic theory, participatory democracy, sustainability, multi culturalism, gender and Welfare State.
